RTS KOLIBRI CHOIR
The hummingbird (Kolibri) is the smallest bird in the world. Tiny, vivid colors, unstoppable in motion. Association – child. Hence, the name of the Kolibri children’s choir. In it, children grow and sing. The choir is a school with specific subjects – fairy tales, development of speech and motor skills, breathing, concentration, expression of thoughts, learning new concepts, socialization, awareness of the child, nurturing of friendship, selflessness, and respect for the personality, realization of the joy of singing.
Kolibri Children’s Choir was founded in 1963. The founder and longtime conductor of this youngest ensemble within the Radio and Television of Serbia Music Production was Milica Manojlović.
Kolibri is a unique children’s choir with a recognizable singing culture, pleasing interpretation and a highly professional attitude towards musicianship nurtured in a thoughtful love for music active reception of music whose message it conveys to listeners with unique pleasure. Attitude while singing, breathing, creating an interpretation, understanding the text, whether it is in Serbian or not, is put into the function of musical expression.
The choir has held over a hundred concerts in the country. Choir Kolibri participated in audio dramas, television shows and series, and in films. The choir recorded and released seven audio cassettes, ninetine singles, fortytwo long-play gramophone records, and four audio CDs in the PGP-RTB/RTS edition.
Exceptional artistic achievements and aesthetic satisfaction brought this choir a number of awards, among which stand out: Charter of Radio Belgrade for contribution to the development of children’s and youth music, „Zlatni Beočug“ of the Cultural and Educational Community of Belgrade for achievement in the field of science and art, Charter of the “Association of Composers” for contribution to the development of musical creativity, Charter of the UNICEF, the „Zlatna Siringa“ of Belgrade Radio-television for the greatest annual achievement of the RTB ensemble, the Order of Labor with a Silver Wreath, the Medal of “Mokranjac Days”.
In March 2012, with great pleasure and enthusiasm, continuing the path that Milica Manojlović started back in 1963, Ljiljana Ranđelović, graduate music pedagogue and graduate music pedagogue.
