Walter David, an oboist, was born in Paris. He started his career as a performer by winning the first prize for oboe and chamber music at the „Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique“ in Paris, after which he won five international awards at competitions in Ancona, Prague, Munich, Belgrade, and Geneva. As a chamber musician, he performed with „Quintette Moragues“ and many other famous ensembles. At the age of 29, he became the youngest professor of oboe and chamber music at the renowned Paris Conservatory. In an attempt to enrich the relatively limited repertoire for oboe, he also worked as an arranger of classical music for his instrument and has done more than 1200 arrangements to this day. He is also a composer and his oeuvre consists of 35 original pieces. In December 2016, he conducted the orchestra „National de lille de France“, which performed his opera „La Jeune Fille sans mains“ in Paris.
