KIRIL STANKOV AND DEJAN GAVRIC WITH RTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR
The RTS Choir and Symphony Orchestra will share the stage at the concert announced for May 12! On the program will be „Song of Destiny“ by Johannes Brahms, one of the most significant pieces of this composer written for choir and orchestra, as well as Fifth Symphony by Antonin Dvorak. The concert will feature soloist, flutist Dejan Gavric, who will perform Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in D minor by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, which is one of his most famous concertos written for this instrument.

The flutist Dejan Gavric was born in Belgrade. He began his studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. After receiving a scholarship, he continued his studies at the “Folkwang Hochschule” in Essen in the class of prof. Matthias Ritters. During his studies, he received the first prize in the competition of the “Folkwang – Hochschule ”, and he also won the “Folkwang” award for overall artistic performance. In 1993, he completed his master’s degree, and then became a lecturer at the same university.
He won awards at the Wiener Konzerthaus and Julia Wesley international competitions “Maria Canals” in Barcelona (Spain) and “Leonardo de Lorenzo” in Vigiano (Italy). During his studies in Belgrade, he performed several times as a soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic and the RTS Symphony Orchestra. He held concerts at BEMUS as well as at the “Summer Music Festival” in Split.
He recorded for the needs of radio and television of Belgrade. As a soloist and chamber
performer, he has performed several times in England, France, Spain, Austria, Italy, Germany, Japan and America.
He was the solo flutist of the Theater and Philharmonic in Essen (1996-1998), and then the New Philharmonic of Westphalia. From the 1999/2000 season, he was the solo flutist of the Philharmonic and the assistant solo flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic prof. Dieter Fliri at the High School of Music and Fine Arts in Graz.
Since 2002, he has been a professor at the High School of Music in Mainz.
