MAJA BOGDANOVIĆ AND DANIJEL ROLAND WITH THE RTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND MAESTRO BOJAN SUDJIC
At the last concert in 2022, the RTS Symphony Orchestra will perform with top soloists – cellist Maja Bogdanović and violinist Daniel Roland. On the program is Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto no. 1, which the composers Dmitri Shostakovich and Sergei Rachmaninoff called the most significant work for cello that had been composed up to that point. The one-movement composition La Muse et le Poete, op. 132, composed as a double concerto for violin and cello, which the composer himself described as “a conversation between two instruments rather than a debate between two virtuosos”. At the end of the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to listen to César Franc’s Symphony in D minor, a masterpiece of romantic symphonic music, which contemporaries criticized for representing the penetration of German-style into French romantic music. The concert will be held on December 21, at 8 p.m., in the Great Hall of the Kolarca Endowment. Maestro Bojan Suđić will be the conductor.
