The RTS Big Band will be the host to one of the world’s best trombonists of the new generation, a longtime friend of the orchestra – Samuel Blaser (Switzerland) at the concert on April 5. This time it will be the premiere concert promotion of the exclusive original musical material that Blaser recorded with the Big Band, which is on the “Aquarelle” compact disc.
According to critics, Samuel Blaser is the trombonist of the 21st century. Broad melodies and technical dexterity form the basis of his art. His projects include exploring opera music, rock, and blues transformed into the sound of jazz. Also, he fully uses the entire range of performance possibilities of the trombone – from poetic melody and emphasized rhythmic punctuation, to abstract sound effects in the function of virtuoso, masterful performance.
