Željko Lučić and Snežana Savičić Sekulić in the opera in three scenes, “The beheading of Prince Lazar”

At the first February concert of the RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir, the opera in three pictures, “The Conversion of Lazarus” by Miroljub Arandjelovic Rasinski, is on the program. In the performance of this capital work, a top group of soloists perform – Željko Lućić, baritone (Prince Lazar), Snežana Sekulić Savičić, soprano (Princess Milica), Goran Krneta, bass (Saint Amos), Milan Obradović, baritone (Miloš Obilić), Darko Manić, (Murat), Mladen Prodan tenor (Bajazit), Vesna Đurković, soprano (Fairy and daughter Mara), Nevena Đoković, soprano (daughter Teodora), Filip Veljković, alto (son Stefan). Aleksandar Kojić will conduct the concert.

The concert will held on February 3 in the Kolarac Concert Hall.

The opera in three scenes, “The beheading of Prince Lazar” is composed in three acts, according to the libretto by Nebojsa Lapčević, and deals with the famous history of town Kruševac. In the first scene, Prince Lazar, in a prayerful conversation with Saint Amos, receives a blessing and celebrates with Princess Milica, his family and the people the construction of the Serbian capital city. The builders build the first rampart of Kruševac and then the Lazarica Church, the residents bring pear stone from Morava. The second scene thematizes the Kosovo battle, the murder of Murat and Lazars’ commitment to the kingdom of heaven. St. Amos appears again in the third scene and speaks with Prince Lazar. Prince Lazar is taken up to heaven by an angel, and while everyone is carrying his relics, Heavenly Lazar appears.
