The RTS Symphony Orchestra invites you to an evening of music by Sergei Prokofiev. Cellist Vuk Ovaskainen will perform as a soloist at the concert, and the orchestra will be led by one of the leading conductors, Aleksandar Sladkovski. The program includes one of Prokofiev’s most famous concert pieces, dedicated to Mstislav Rostropovich, Sinfonia concertante Op. 125, for Cello and Orchestra, and Symphony No. 5, composed during the Second World War. The composer said about that composition: “I thought of it as a work that glorifies the human spirit. I wanted to sing of mankind free and happy; his strength, his generosity, and the purity of his soul.”
The concert will be held on February 27 in the Kolarac Concert Hall at 8 p.m.
