Get to know one of Johannes Brahms’ masterpieces! The RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir with, maestro Bojan Suđić will perform the monumental “German Requiem”. Sonja Šarić, soprano, and Dragutin Matić, baritone, will perform as soloists. The concert will be held in Kolarac Concert Hall on April 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the box office of the Kolarac endowment.

“German Requiem” is one of the most complex works of Johan Brahms. From the moment it was premiered until today, it attracted an audience. The reason for that is the power of the sound and the textual message it sends, as well as the composer’s poetics, which is quite specific about the other works of that composer. “Requiem” also carries a touch of mysticism because the author has never publicly revealed what inspired him to write it and to whom he dedicated the work. It is assumed that the loss of his mother and a great friend and mentor, Robert Schumann, was the reason for him to write this piece.
