Dragoslav Freddie Stanisavljevic
In 1994, he began his education in the field of jazz music at the Academy of Music in Graz (Prof. Eduard Holtaner). Still at the beginning of his studies, he became a member of the University Big Band led by our renowned jazz professor Stjepko Gut, with whom the world’s great jazz musicians had performed (Clark Terry, Benny Bailey, Bobby Shew, Bob Brookmeyer and others).
At the invitation of the RTS Big Band, he returns to Serbia and becomes a permanent member and soloist of the orchestra. He has performed with eminent foreign jazz musicians, such as Ray Charles, Diane Schuur, Ak Van Rooyen, Peter Herbolzheimer, Steve Turre, Randy Brecker, Vic Vogel, Jon Faddis, Ronnie Kuber, Don Menza, Benny Golson, Jesse Davis, Eddie Henderson, Chuck Findley, Peter King, Bobby Shew and many others.
From 2003 to 2021, he was the lead trumpet of the RTS Big Band. In 2005, he was chosen to represent Serbia in the European Jazz Youth Orchestra, which performed on a tour around the world under the direction of arranger, conductor and composer Vic Vogel, and recorded a CD in Canada on the occasion of the eightieth birthday of the famous pianist Oscar Peterson.
Dragoslav Freddie Stanisavljevic was often performing with Dusko Gojkovic, as a member of the “Dusko Gojkovic Big Band“, “Torino Big Band”, “Dusko Gojkovic International Summit Octet” and other ensembles. As the leader of the “Big Band Soul Connection”, he recorded the CD Balkan Project with Dusko Gojkovic, Toni Lakatos, Mario Gonzi, Martin Gjakonovski and Claus Raible.
He has collaborated in the field of lead trumpet education with Milo Pavlovic, Jon Faddis, Jeff Davis, Lin Nicholson, Bobby Shew and others.
He has performed on the stages of world festivals, concert halls, and famous jazz clubs: “Montreux jazz festival”, “Porgy and Bess Wiena”, “Tel Aviv jazz festival”, “Otawa National Art Centre”, “Cheb jazz festival”, “Bansko jazz festival”, “Stara Zagora jazz festival”, “Marsellie jazz festival”, „Kultur Stadt Weimar jazz festival”, „Odense Concert Hall”, „Jazzflag Halle”, “Bayerischer Hof jazz club”, “Jazz House Copenhagen”, “Jazz Land Wien”, “Moods Jazz Club Zurich”, “Orpheum Graz”, “Jazz Club Torino”, “A TRANE Jazz Club Berlin”, “Unterfahrt Jazz Club Munich”, “Jazzment Klub Szczecin”, “Round Midnight Trieste”, “Jazzweekend Regensburg”, “Audi Forum Ingolsthadt”, “Thalwil jazz club”, “Budapest Jazz Club”, “Studio Theater Wiesbaden“, “Künstlerwerkstatt Pfaffenhofen”
From 2010 to 2019, he performed the function of the Editor-in-Chief of the RTS Big Band and the editorial office for jazz and pop music of RTS Music Production.
From 2019 to 2021, he acted as the Executive Music Editor of the RTS Music Production and the music director of the RTS Big Band.
Since 2021, he has been the Executive Director of RTS Music Production. His business policy has improved teamwork and made the sector’s productivity more efficient and creative.
