Marko Đorđević

Marko Đorđević (1972) graduated from the Stanković Music School in Belgrade, where he also studied the trumpet for a year at the Faculty of Music. Throughout his schooling, he was the recipient of numerous first-place awards at federal and national competitions, and was also a successful competitor at international competitions.

In 1991 his interest shifted to jazz music, and he became a member of the Radio Television of Belgrade Jazz Orchestra during the following year. He studied jazz music from 1994 to 1999 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Austria), as well as at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich (Germany) from 1999 to 2005.

The time he spent abroad enabled him to gain extensive performance experience as a jazz musician, especially through performing and recording with prominent jazz artists such as Clark Terry, Barry Harris, Sheila Jordan, Don Menza, Duško Gojković, Charly Antolini, Peter Erskine, Brad Leali, Vic Vogel and others.

He participated in two European tours of the European Youth Jazz Orchestra (1998 and 2005). He has performed at all significant jazz venues in Europe, and has participated in many CD album recordings of eminent jazz musicians, including: Charly Antolini, Karlheinz Miklin, Duško Gojković and more. He has performed and created recordings with various notable domestic artists, such as Duško Gojković, Stjepko Gut, Bora Roković and Jovan Miković. He was a member of several jazz ensembles (Trumpets & Rythm Unit, Duško Gojković Munich Big Band, Charly Antolini Jazz Power and so on).

He graduated from the Academy of Arts Slobomir P of the University of Bijeljina (2013), where he also earned his master’s degree (2014).

Positioned as a trumpet soloist, he has been a permanent member of the Radio Television of Serbia Big Band since 2007. As a jazz trumpet player, he performs with many relevant jazz and popular musicians.

As of 2022, he has been holding the position of Editor in Charge of Jazz and Popular Music at the RTS Music Production. Since then, he has organized a multitude of successful concerts with significant Serbian and foreign artists performing as soloists (John Marshall, Omar Sosa, Claus Raible, Alan Broadbent, Jan Van Duikeren and more). In this time, he has also successfully realised a CD edition of New Seasons by Big Band and renowned saxophone player Francesco Santucci (PGP – RTS, 2023).
