RTS Music production and the Association „Dusko Gojkovic Jazz Initiative“ are proud to present a concert performance of the new program, compositions and arrangements of Thad Jones,which will be presented by: Stjepko Gut and RTS Big Band on Monday, May 16, starting at 8 pm, in the Kolarac Concert Hall.

Stjepko Gut, our celebrated internationally known jazz soloist on trumpet and also a composer, band leader, music pedagogue, performs again in Belgrade, with the RTS Big Band. The program will include compositions and arrangements by Ted Jones, trumpet soloist and Big Band leader, who with the jazz drummer Mel Lewis lead the Ted Jones-Mel Lewis orchestra, founded in 1965. and certainly one of the most significant jazz orchestras of the 20th century.

This concert represents a continuation of the successful cooperation between the RTS Music Production and the Association “Dusko Gojkovic Jazz Initiative ”, which certainly share a unique cultural mission and commitment to the highest artistic values but also high production standards. For over 70 years, the RTS Big Band has been an example of an artistic ensemble that plays music and performs demanding programs, putting itself among the most important European Big Bands.

The association „Dusko Gojkovic Jazz Initiative“ was founded as a non-profit organization with the aim of encouraging and preserving true jazz music. The association has published a monographic edition of the book of compositions by Dusko Gojkovic. The association always emphasizes long-term cooperation with RTS Music production with pride.

Stjepko Gut started his career as a trumpet player and a soloist of the RTS Big Band. He was the only European musician, who was a member of the Lionel Hamptonn all Stars Big-Band, and he was also a longtime member of the Clark Terry Big Band. He collaborated with numerous ensembles around the world, as well as with numerous jazz icons. He performed at worlds most prestigious concert venues such as the Apollo Theatre, the Blue Note Jazz Club and The Village Vanguard in New York, as well as numerous festivals around the world.
