The Radio Television of Serbia Big Band won this year’s lifetime achievement award from the “Nišvile” festival. The ensemble, which has been actively present on the concert stage for more than seven decades and which has produced a whole constellation of top jazz musicians known both on the domestic and foreign stage, will receive recognition on the first day of the festival, August 14, when they will hold a concert in front of the audience. This award is a recognition not only to the musicians who today make up the RTS Big Band but also to all former jazz players who were part of its lineups in the ensemble’s career spanning almost eight decades.
