RADIO TELEVISION OF SERBIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND SRETEN KRSTIC
Violinist Sreten Krstic, who is known as the concertmaster of Munich Philharmonic, will lead the RTS Symphony Orchestra at a concert on Saturday, April 9th at 8 p.m. At the Great Hall of Kolarac endowment the audience will have the opportunity to listen to an interesting program, which will begin with the performance of one of the most famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts symphonies – Symphony No. 40, G minor, KV550, for which Robert Schumann said that it possesses Greek beauty and grace, alluding to the beauties of classical Greek art. In addition to this, they will also perform Mahlers Adagietto from his Symphony No. 5, which the critics named „The Island of Peace in the Boiling Turmoil of the Fifth Symphony“, alluding to the duration and fullness of the sound of this symphonic achievement, which was not very popular with the audience because of its duration. The concert will be rounded off by Mendelssohns Italian Symphony, for which the composer found inspiration in the nature, people and music of Italy. While finishing the sketches for this work, he wrote enthusiastically to his father, noting: „This is Italy, and now i am starting to work on a piece i always dreamed about. This is the gratest joy of my life“.

Violinist Sreten Krstic has been the first concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic since 1980. As a soloist he has performed with famous conductors, such as S. Celibidache, J. Levine, Z. Mehta, H. Vakasugi, V. Neumann, D. Kitayenko and others.
He has played in almost all European countries, Japan, America and the former USSR. He is the founder of „Gasteig-Trio Munchen“ string trio, as well as „Philharmonic string sextet“, (Philharmonische Streichsetett). On his iniciative the chamber orchestra „Philharmonic soloists“ was formed of which he was the artistic leader. Since 2011 he has been working as a permanent concertmaster and artistic leader of „Zagreb’s soloists“.
