CARMINA BURANA UNDER AN OPEN SKY
The free concert within the “Music Night” will be held on Friday, 31 August, at 8.30 pm, at the most beautiful summer stage of the stadium Tasmajdan. According to the world metropolis, visitors of the open-air music spectacle will be able to enjoy the notes of one of the most performed operas by German composer Carl Orff, the scenic cantata “Carmina Burana”.
The famous work of classical music of the past century will be presented to the Belgrade audience by the RTS Symphony Orchestra, the RTS Choir, the RTS Children’s Choir and the RTS Kolibri, along with soloists, soprano Aleksandar Jovanovic, tenor Aleksandar Tolimir and baritone Dragutin Matic, and conducted by maestro Bojan Sudjic, one of the leading names of Serbian classical scene.
Evolved from the forgotten collection of manuscripts, “Carmina Burana” is inspired by the verses of medieval singers, musicians and philosophers about their everyday life – love, religion, relationship with nature. Images of that time, simplicity and life rhythm have made it interesting to all ages, fans of opera and pop music around the world, and it is quite certain that guests of the Belgrade “Music Night” will enjoy its performance. Since the entrance to the concert is completely free, we politely ask visitors to take their place in time.
