RTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, RTS CHOIR AND RAMON VARGAS AT JUBILEE 50TH BEMUS
On 17 October, at 20:00, in the Concert Hall of the Kolarac Endowment, The RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir, along with maestro Bojan Sudjic, will mark with their performance at 50th “golden” BEMUS, the centenary of the birth of famous American composer Leonard Bernstein.
At the concert, which is already recognised as one of the most attractive within the festivals, will be performed symphonic games from the musicals ” West Side Story ” and ” Chichester Psalms “, where fourteen-year-old Jakov Firez will perform as a soloist.
Ramon Vargas, one of the leading and most sought-after tenors of today, will appear on the same evening with the Ensembles of Music Production and maestro Bojan Sudjic. He will present arias from the operas “Luisa Miller” by Giuseppe Verdi, “Don Giovanni” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “The Elixir of Love” by Gaetano Donizetti, “L’arlesiana” by Francesco Cilea and “Romeo and Juliet” by Charles Gounod.
The RTS Symphony Orchestra (1937) and Choir RTS (1939) are modern ensembles, which follow the global tendencies in the interpretation of music. They are actively present at concert podiums in the country and abroad, positioning themselves as prestigious performers. Bojan Sudjic, the executive and artistic director of the RTS Music Production and the chief conductor of the Sympony Orchestra and Choir is the leading conductor in Serbian music. He appeared as a guest conductor of the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm and the Finnish National Opera Ensemble in Helsinki. He collaborated with 40 orchestras in Europe, among which are The Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra from Sofia and the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), the Budapest Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), the Rome Symphony Orchestra (Italy), the Carinthian Simphony Orchestra from Klagenfurt (Austria), the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and The State Symphony Capella of Russia from Saint Petersburg (Russia), the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra (Finland), the Odense Symphony Orchestra (Denmark), the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, the Vesteras Symphony Orchestra and the Umea Symphony Orchestra (Sweden), the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), and the Chilean Symphony Orchestra from Santiago de Chile.
