RTS Symphony Orchestra and violist Milena Simović on December 5 at Kolarac Concert Hall
The RTS Symphony Orchestra, with violist Milena Simović and conductor Bojan Suđić, will hold a concert on December 5 in the Kolarac Concert Hall, starting at 8 p.m. At the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to hear William Walton’s Viola Concerto. The Concerto was written in 1929, and the same year the premiere was in London at a concert where Paul Hindemith performed as a soloist, and the composer himself was the conductor. In addition to the Viola Concerto, the program will include Symphony No. 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich. The Symphony was created a year after Stalin died in 1953. Some sources say that the sketches of some movements or even the draft of the entire Symphony were written a few years earlier.
