Gala Concert of Radio Television of Serbia Folk Orchestra
The RTS Folk Orchestra won the Vuk’s Award in 2021 for the exceptional results achieved in creative work on the spread of culture, education, and science in the Republic of Serbia and in the all-Serbian cultural area. This significant achievement is traditionally awarded by the Cultural and Educational Association of Serbia.
On that occasion, the RTS Music production is preparing a concert dedicated to the history of the orchestra, artistic directors, prominent instrumental and vocal soloists, in the ceremonial hall of the House of the Serbian Army, on Thursday, April 7th at 8 p.m. The new generation of „radio“ singers, who as young and talented vocal soloists, have a chance to grow as artists with the Folk Orchestra and thus get acquainted with the musical features of our folk songs, selected compositions in the folk spirit, city songs, and romances, will be presented at this concert. In addition to vocal soloist, the concert will also feature excellent instrumental soloists – members of the RTS Folk Orchestra, as well as the accordion soloist Vlada Panovic, who is also an artistic leader of this renowned orchestra, with a lasting tradition of eighty-eight years.
Following artists will perform at the concert: Ivana Tasić, Aleksandar Tirnanić, Biljana Petkovic, Branimir Stosic, Vesna Dimic, Jovan Mihaljica, Milena Jankovic, Danilo Zivkovic, Dobrila Milanovic, Milena Popovic, Katarina Bogdanović and Slobodan Elbet.
Actors Tatjana Dimitrijevic and Nebojsa Kundacina will lead us through the story of the RTS Folk Orchestra.
