TWO PREMIERES AT THE CONCERT OF THE RTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
On Saturday, 12 May, at 20:00 in the Concert Hall of Kolarac Endowment, the audience will have the opportunity to hear the compositions by two prominent Serbian composers, Svetislav Bozic and Dejan Despic, which will be premiered at the concert of the RTS Symphony Orchestra, along with maestro Bojan Sudjic.
The symphonic picture “Sunny River” by Bozic, with which the concert begins, is a new work of this author and represents a kind of autobiographical metaphor of his childhood memory.
As a soloist in Despic’s “Concert for trumpet and symphony orchestra op. 168 ” we will listen to one of the leading domestic artists on the trumpet, Mladen Djordjevic, to whom this work is dedicated.
Besides the above-mentioned compositions, on the program is “Harold in Italy”, a concert symphony for violin and orchestra by Hector Berlioz. Milena Simovic, solo violist of the Symphony Orchestra from Birmingham, will play the demanding section of viola.
This artist will perform in her interpretation the role of melancholy Harold, a character from Lord Byron’s “Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage”, by which Berlioz was inspired to create this work. With this performance, Milena Simovic will debut with the RTS Symphony Orchestra.
