Today in Belgrade, at the age of 83, passed away Darinka Matic Marovic, a prominent conductor, the first woman rector of the University of Arts and former dean of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.

In her reach career, she has achieved successful performances on numerious concert podiums in the country and the world, and received numerous domestic and foreign awards for her work.

As a conductor, she has led the famous choirs “Collegium musicum“ since its founding in 1971, as well as “Branko Krsmanovic“, today “Obilic“, since 1981. These ensembles were nurseries of great voices, especially male ones, many of whom later became members of the RTS Choir.

During her decades-long career, Darinka Matic Marovic collaborated with various ensembles of the RTS Music Production, and her work was characterized by great love and dedication to music, as well as great energy that she shared with all performers.

In Darinka Matic Marovic, RTS Music Production lost a great collaborator, and much more a friend, whose advices were of great value.
