Sasa Mirkovic and Aleksandar Kojic with RTS Symphony Orchestra
The month of May of the RTS Symphony Orchestra will be marked with viola music. At the new concert, which we are announcing for May 24, at 8 pm, in the Great Hall of the Kolarac Endowment, the ensemble will be joined on stage by violist Sasa Mirkovic. This prominent artist will premiere in Serbia the “Concerto for Viola and Orchestra” by Airat Ishmuratov, a Russian composer who lives and works in Canada. Also, a symphonic poem “Night on a Bare Hill” by Modest Mussorgsky will be performed. This poem is based on the story “Midsummer Night” by Nikolai Gogol, whose theme is the mystical gathering of witches. The program also includes the “Fourth Symphony” by Alexander Glazunov, which the author himself said was a work in which he expressed “personal, free and subjective impressions of himself” through sound.
Aleksandar Kojić will conduct the concert, for which tickets are on sale at the box office of Kolarac’s endowment.
