VIVI VASSILEVA, RTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND MAESTRO DIAN CHOBANOV
Percussionist Vivi Vassileva, known among the critics as the star of percussion, will perform as a soloist at the RTS Symphony Orchestra concert. On that occasion, one of the most attractive pieces from the composer – Gregor Mayrhofer – “Recycling Concerto” will be performed, in which various recycled items are used as instruments – plastic bottles, lids, buckets, etc. Under the slogan “Make music, not garbage”, the author explores the sound possibilities of the world around him, finding inspiration in discarded things. At the same time, he also gives an excellent example of how everything around us can become a solo instrument, which can be used in schools in the process of music education.
In addition to this composition, the “Gogol Suite” by Alfred Schnittke, one of the most respectable composers of the 20th century, will be performed at the concert, which has been announced for October 1, in the Kolarac Concert Hall, at 8 p.m. Even though it was composed for a theater performance of Gogol’s “The Auditor”, the music attracted the attention of not only the audience but also the famous conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky, who shaped it into an orchestral suite.
The concert will be conducted by Dian Chobanov, a conductor with a successful career, who has already worked with many important world orchestras.
